Brage Heltzen - Shipping Coverage

I am currently working as a summer Intern at SEB’s Shipping Coverage department in Oslo. This has so far provided me the opportunity to learn and assist in projects related to their operations towards the shipping and offshore sector. I am assigned with two main projects over the summer. Firstly, I assist in the Poseidon Principles scheme which monitor the yearly carbon emission for the Shipping Coverage portfolio. Effectually this gives me valuable insight into the industry transition since the initiative promotes the decarbonization of the shipping industry. Secondly, I work with Due Diligence in relation to external valuers used for the valuations of SEB financed vessels. I find the work-experience at Shipping Coverage to be of exceptional value considering that it has given me the opportunity to understand how the department operate whilst acquiring me with the knowledge to successful execute relevant assignments.

Beste minne så langt

Among the best memories I have had so far was the opportunity to attend a restructuring event held by Bahr for the Shipping Coverage department. Their presentation offered an interesting review of restructuring deals that they had work on in the effort to avoid bankruptcy procedures for company clients. The presentation was followed by an enjoyable dinner which provided the opportunity to further network with SEB co-workers and the Bahr lawyers. 

Største overraskelse

The internship has exceeded all expectations. Among the greatest surprises during the internship is the easy access to people for across the different departments. The network of people is of tremendous value and will help me in the effort of finding the most appealing position to apply for as a future career path within the bank.
