New announcement from SWIFT on structured addresses

On 27 August 2026, SWIFT announced that the requirement to use structured addresses, originally planned for 15 November 2026, has been postponed to a future standards release. The requirement is still coming, but a new implementation date has not yet been announced by SWIFT. European Payments Council (EPC), Nordic Payments Council (NPC) as well as other Market Infrastructures are yet to announce if they will change the deadline or not i.e. the degree of alignment on the postponement is not yet fully clear. We will keep you informed as soon as more information is available.

It is important that you continue preparing your systems and address data as planned to ensure a smooth transition and minimize the risk of payment disruptions.
